When & Where Can You Find 4th of July Celebrations?
It’s back!! Independence Day is one of Suzanne’s favorite holidays, and there is a LOT of activity happening all around New England this year. Some of the fireworks celebrations have already started with MANY more to come over the next week. For more options, check out the BostonCentral.com complete list of Massachusetts fireworks, sortable by date as well as by town. For New Hampshire displays, we found a pretty good round-up from New Hampshire Magazine. There are also road races & parades and carnivals to explore, so get ready for a weekend of good, old-fashioned summertime FUN!
BOSTON, MA - Monday 7/4
Concert & Fireworks
For the first time in 3 years, the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will return to the Esplanade on the 4th of July! The concert starts at 8pm and is headlined by Chaka Khan. Fireworks are set to grace the sky at 10:30pm. To secure a spot, arrive early! Seating opens at noon. Read all of the guidelines here.
Burlington, mA - Monday 7/4
Parade
Burlington’s 4th of July is sure to bring out your patriotic spirit! The parade starts at 11am, but the route closes to traffic at 9:30am, so plan your travel accordingly.
DUXBURY, MA - Monday 7/4
Road race, Parade & Beach Party
Lots of our South Shore communities have fun happenings for the 4th of July! Duxbury has a whole day of fun planned - starting with a road race at 8am, parade at 2pm and concludes with a beach party* at 4pm. The fun-filled party offers music from 4-10pm, a spectacular bonfire at 7:30pm and the option to bring or buy dinner.
*must be a Duxbury resident to park in the lot
Lexington, MA - Thursday 6/30-Monday 7/4
Carnival & Fireworks
Fun for the whole family, the Lexington Lions Club’s annual 4th of July Carnival kicks off on Thursday evening at Hastings Park and runs through Monday. Fireworks are scheduled for Friday 7/1 at 9:30pm.
HAMPTON, NH - Wednesday 6/29

Looking for a mid-week celebration? Head to Hampton Beach for some early festivities on Wednesday! Grab a blanket, your friends & family and sit back to take the fireworks display over the water at 9:30pm.
Nashua, NH - Monday 7/4
Baseball game, concert & Fireworks
Make your way to Holman Stadium for a full day of festivities! The Nashua Silver Knights, part of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, take the field at 11am to face the Worcester Bravehearts (tickets required, kids under 12 are free). Live music starts at 5:30pm and concludes at dusk for the fireworks display.
Somerville, MA - Thursday 6/30
Fireworks
A long-standing tradition, the Somerville Arts Council hosts a lively fireworks display the Thursday before the holiday weekend on Trum Field. Enjoy music from a DJ as well as a live act! Fireworks will begin around 9:15pm.
WALTHAM, MA - Friday 7/1 & Saturday 7/2
Fireworks & Festival
Fireworks in Waltham are scheduled for Friday, July 1 at dusk. They will be set of from a barge on Moody Street, so plan your viewing & transportation accordingly! Excellent information is provided by the city here. On Saturday 7/2, head to Prospect Hill Park from 10am - 2pm for a family-friendly festival featuring games, amusements & more.
