1. Today’s Recipe:

Smoothie.jpg

I've been really into making smoothies lately to start my day! They're easy to make and there are hundreds of different combinations to create. My go to is a banana strawberry! I mix in about a cup and a half of frozen strawberries, half a frozen banana, a cup of strawberry greek yogurt, a handful of spinach and some water depending on how thick you want it and then blend away! A trick I like to do when I get back from the grocery store is divide my frozen strawberries into freezer baggies, add half a banana and store in the freezer. Time saver!

Another recipe that I've made this past week was my sister's chocolate chip cookies. They are famous in my family! We buy the Nestle Toll House chocolate chunks and just follow the recipe on the back. Her secret is to replace the butter with shortening. Simple and easy if you're craving something sweet!

2. Top Song Picks:

I love all music, especially country and pop! To keep a little bit of normal in my daily routine, each morning when I start working I listen to Kiss 108 and then change to my Country playlist. You can definitely bet there is some Eric Church on there because Becky has turned me into a fan! I'll also share some of my favorite pop songs from my workout playlist.

3. Good Kid-Friendly Activity:

Although I am one of the very few team members without kids, some of the activities I've been up to can definitely be kid-friendly. I love to do puzzles! I normally start a big one and work on it throughout the week when I need a break. We are also a BIG game family. Some of our go to's are Catch Phrase, Scattergories, Password, Trivial Pursuit, Taboo, and Smart Ass. We also like to play Heads Up on our phones.

4. Proud Moment:

I am differently proud of the slideshow I created for Suzanne's birthday! I learned some new editing and movie making skills. It wouldn't have been possible without the help from all her family, friends, and team members. I'm glad we were able to give her something special on her birthday during this time of social distancing. Click here to watch!

5. Not-So-Proud Moment:

I am definitely not proud of how many cookies I've eaten. I'm excited to be cooking and baking more than I normally do, but I think it's time for me to start learning some healthier recipes haha.

6. Whatcha Reading:

I'm not going to lie, I'm not much of a reader. But since being in quarantine, I'm trying new things to stay busy. Last week I started Where the Crawdads Sing recommended by my mom and her sisters. We'll see how it goes...

7. Movie/Show Recommendation:

One of my all time favorite shows is Grey's Anatomy! Call me crazy but I restarted the entire series last month and I'm still going strong. And yes I watch the current season every Thursday night! A newer show that I just recently started watching is Little Fires Everywhere with Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington. It streams from Hulu and there's a new episode every Wednesday.

8. Excellent Outdoor Activity:

Like most people during this time, my only escape is to get outside. My mom, sister, and I have been going on long walks most days. We even started to run again which I'm really excited about! We downloaded the peloton app which has been helpful because it tracks our runs and even gives us new routes to try.

9. Blog or Website You Are Clicking On:

I love to use Pinterest! I create boards for just about anything and everything. I also follow a lot of blogs/bloggers on Instagram! A few of my favorites are The Home Edit, Life in Jeneral, Brocc Your Body, Mallory Ervin, and Whitney Sicher. It's a bit of a mix from organization tips, to recipes, to workouts!

10. Any Advice You Want to Share:

Try to stay positive! Although we have more downtime now, try to take advantage of it. Something I've been doing in my free time is helping my mom organize. We're going through all the closets, draws, and bins that need some spring cleaning. As I listed in the previous question, The Home Edit and Life in Jeneral are my go to blog for organizing tips!

While on our mission to organize, I came across my baby book and a few photo boxes. I always love to look at old picture every now and then. I decided to order some photo albums and put together some photo books. Just another idea to stay busy during this time and relive some memories!

Would love to hear from you all as well!!! The more we engage, find humor, share encouragement and challenges, the stronger we can come out of this!!!
